Unit Objective: Wiffle Ball
Baseball/Wiffleball is a great activity to build a student's cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and flexibility as well as their ability to cooperate with teammates to achieve a common goal. In this unit, students will learn the rules and essential movement skills in order to successfully participate in a game of Wiffleball.
Students will understand... - how to throw and catch using the correct form. - the rules of wiffleball. - the origin and cultural background of wiffleball. - how wiffleball enhances their personal fitness level. - how to cooperate with teammates to achieve a common goal.
Students will keep considering... - how concepts of force and motion affect the skill performance in a game situations. - why practicing appropriate and safe behaviors while participating in and viewing games, sports, and other competitive events contributes to enjoyment of the event. - there is a strong cultural, ethnic, and historical background associated with competitive sports. - to what extent wiffleball improve skill-related fitness versus health-related fitness.

This week the students learned and reviewed the history of Wiffle Ball. The students also practice their Wiffle Ball skills and played multiple positions. Lastly the students practice their dance battle routine.

The students will continue to work on their Wiffle Ball Skills when not taking their Milestone Assessment!
WIA received dance grant!
The school used the funds for the grant to purchase some awesome equipment to aid our physical education program.
One of the requirements of obtaining the grant, the school must put on a competition to showcase the students skills learned within the program. Additionally, the students will be given the opportunity to learn more skills at the dance clinic before the end of the school year. Where they will be given more opportunities to show case their skills.
