Unit : Tumbling & Calisthenics
Unit Objective: Tumbling & Calisthenics
The primary goal of gymnastics in a school setting is to challenge the students to confidently manage their body in a variety of unique and unfamiliar situations. The movements and progressions developed in this gymnastics unit will build fundamental skills that can be transferred and utilized in other physical activities. While the activities in this gymnastics unit clearly enhance psycho motor development through body-control skills, it also targets several fundamental cognitive and effective elements in student development.

WIA received dance grant!
The school used the funds for the grant to purchase some awesome equipment to aid our physical education program.
One of the requirements of obtaining the grant, the school must put on a competition to showcase the students skills learned within the program. Additionally, the students will be given the opportunity to learn more skills at the dance clinic before the end of the school year. Where they will be given more opportunities to show case their skills.
On March 1st the students will participate in a dance workshop. The workshop will teach the students basic choreography and be challenged to combine it into a short routine.
